What to Wear to Be Prepared: God's Armor - Ephesians 6:10-18

The Armor of God:  Before the battle begins, the armor waits.

Helmet with gold cross, shield, sword, and axe arranged on wood—symbolizing spiritual readiness and defense.

Ephesians 6:10-18 NLT

10...be strong with the Lord's mighty power.
11 Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil.
12 For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms.
13 Use every piece of God's armor to resist the enemy in the time of evil, so that after the battle you will still be standing firm.
14 Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness.
15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared.
16 In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan.
17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
18 Pray at all times on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all Christians everywhere.

This is our blueprint for spiritual readiness.

The Whole Armor of God

Armored knight with sword and shield—symbolizing spiritual strength, protection, and readiness.

Let this image remind us: we are not merely surviving—we are standing. We do not stand in our own strength, but clothed in divine protection. The armor of God is not merely protection against one adversary, but against an entire kingdom of deception and destruction.

The Enemy

Red and blue dragon roaring amid dark smoke with glowing eyes-symbolizing a fierce spiritual adversary.

  • The dragon reminds us the enemy is active, restless, and intent on destruction.
  • Peter’s warning: “Be careful! Watch out for attacks from the Devil, your great enemy. He prowls ...looking for some victim to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8).
  • The devil does not prowl in isolation—Scripture tells us he has many helpers.
  • Jesus speaks of “the devil and his demons” (Matthew 25:41), and Revelation 12:9 describes the dragon cast down to earth with his angels, who share in his rebellion, as the one deceiving the whole world.
  •  Even the demons who called themselves “Legion” in Mark 5:9 testify to the multitude of forces aligned against God’s people.
  • Jesus warns in John 10:10 that “The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.”
  • Jesus also identifies the devil’s nature in John 8:44, calling him a murderer from the beginning and the father of lies.

Together, these passages show Satan’s mission - deception, accusation, and destruction - contrasting Christ's offer of life, truth, and salvation.

The Lion of Judah

Three crosses on a hill under golden sky; a lion gazes toward them, symbolizing Christ’s majesty.

The cross was victory. The Lion of Judah is the One who conquered death and wears righteousness like a robe. The lion's gaze is fixed on the hill of redemption, where mercy met justice and love roared louder than sin.

Let us wear The Full Armor of God in Faith daily; (not in fear). Hope is our stance, vigilance our posture, and Christ our strength. We stand with the Lion of Judah who said in John 16:33 "...I have overcome the world."

Romans 8:31 reminds us: "If God is for us, who can be against us?"

Final Reflection:

In Matthew 16:25 Jesus said:
"If you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for me, you will find true life."
Selah!

Prayer

Lord, thank you for your Word.
Forgive us as we forgive others.
Fortify those in the trenches, grant faith to resist temptation, and provide for every need.
We praise You for Your mercy and give You all glory.
In Jesus name, Amen.

Stand Firm in Christ - Selah

December 2: 1 Peter 5:7 Do Not Worry (Bible Verse and Prayer)

Bible Verse 1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you ." KJV Give all your worries and cares to God, because he cares about what happens to you .  (NLT -New Living Translation) Reflection Worry has a way of creeping into our hearts, especially when life feels uncertain. Yet this verse reminds us that we are not meant to carry the weight alone. God’s care is not distant or abstract — it is personal, tender, and constant. Every detail of our lives matters to Him. When we release our burdens into His hands, we exchange anxiety for peace. It doesn’t mean the challenges disappear, but it does mean we walk through them with courage, knowing the Lord is holding us steady. Today, let us practice surrender by naming our worries and laying them before Him, trusting His love to carry what we cannot. Prayer Father, I lay my worries at Your feet.  Please give me calm for my mind and courage for my work, and remind me -   You hold every detail.  In J...

March 12: Mark 10:28 - The Choice of Christ Alone (Today's Reflection from My Utmost For His Highest)

Bible Verse Mark 10:28 "Peter began to say to Him, 'See, we have left all and followed You' " Reflection Total surrender is never a transaction—it is a preference. Not a preference for relief, usefulness, holiness, or spiritual gain, but a quiet, unwavering choosing of Jesus Christ Himself. Peter’s words, “We have left all and followed You,” reveal how easily we imagine surrender as something we give for something in return. But Jesus redirects the entire center of gravity: “for My sake and the gospel’s.” Chambers presses into the uncomfortable truth—we often want God’s gifts more than God. We want cleansing, usefulness, spiritual brightness, or a sense of being “on display” as proof of His work in us. But genuine surrender is not motivated by any of these. It is the laying down of every subtle self-claim so that Christ becomes the only reason, the only aim, the only desire. True surrender goes beyond natural devotion. It steps past the excuses we make in the name of ...
