January 01: Philippians 1:20 - Bold for Christ in the New Year (Today's Reflection from My Utmost For His Highest)

Happy New Year Guided  by Oswald Chambers' Golden Book:  My Utmost For His Highest - We begin the New Year.  Note: I will use this book only as a "guideline" for our daily bread. This is my blog and my words. I am guided mostly by my own walk, my own journey...God is leading me and to this end, let us begin. Oswald Chambers had an astute insight. Charles F. Stanley wrote a foreword note for this book and a snippet of it states: The most important aspect of the Christian life is our personal relationship with Christ. Few individuals have had the insight into the Person of Christ as Oswald Chambers, and fewer still have been able to make its application so inescapable. This volume is not a treasure to be admired but a message to be lived.  And I say: Let's live it.   Portrait: Oswald Chambers Daily Bible Verse: Philippians 1:20 (NLT) For I live in eager expectation and hope that I will never do anything that causes me shame, but that I will always be bold for C...

Unforgiveness has taken root in my spirit, and I confess the bitterness I have carried. Please cleanse me, Lord, and teach me to release this burden so that peace may return to my heart. By Your Spirit, guide me to lay aside anger and resentment, and restore what has been broken through my stubbornness. I lift before You the one who hurt me. Help me to see beyond their actions and understand the pain or confusion that may have shaped them. Grant me compassion, Father, and show me how to extend Your lov...

John 14:13-14 Devotional: Why We Pray In Jesus' Name

Ask In My Name: Jesus Yes, ask anything in my name, and I will do it! Ask in Jesus Name: John 14:13-14 NLT "You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, because the work of the Son brings glory to the Father. Yes, ask anything in my name, and I will do it!" Reflection:  On that holy day when Jesus gave up His spirit, “the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom” (Matthew 27:51; Mark 15:38; Luke 23:45).  That veil had long symbolized the separation between God and man, but through Christ’s sacrifice the barrier was removed. Scripture tells us plainly: “We have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus” (Hebrews 10:19–20).  He is now our High Priest, the One who “always lives to intercede” for us (Hebrews 7:25).  Paul affirms, “There is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5).  And Jesus Himself promised, “Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it” (John 14:13–14)  "At...

Dec 24: Humility and Majesty Luke 2:13-14

December 24 - Christmas Eve Bible Verse   Luke 2:13–14 NLT "Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others - the armies of heaven - praising God: Glory to God in the highest heaven, and  peace on earth to all whom God favors." Reflection Christmas Eve is not only about a child in a manger—it is about heaven breaking into earth with song. The angels’ chorus reminds us that Christ’s birth is cosmic: glory ascends to God, and peace descends to humanity. This is the rhythm of salvation—worship rising, blessing falling. The manger shows humility, but the angels show majesty. Together they reveal the paradox of Christmas: the infinite God clothed in flesh, announced not by trumpets of kings but by voices of heaven. Tonight, as we wait for Christmas morning, let us pause to hear the echo of that angelic hymn. It calls us to lift our eyes beyond earthly concerns and to rest in the peace that only Christ brings. Prayer Father in heaven, on this night of holy wonder we join th...

Choose to Love Yourself

Releasing Self-Doubt Self-doubt is a shadow that whispers we are not enough. Yet the truth is this: you are already worthy, already beloved. To walk in freedom, we must challenge and release the negative beliefs that cling to us. Ask yourself gently: Where did that critical voice originate? Often, it is not your own voice at all, but echoes of old messages that no longer serve you. Let them pass like clouds across the sky. Do not wrestle with them. Instead, breathe in confidence, breathe out self-doubt. Replace the thought with a brighter one, and let your heart rest on it. The Importance of Body Language Your body speaks before your words do. Hold yourself upright, shoulders back, chin lifted in quiet assurance.  This posture tells your soul:  I am confident.  I am worthy. Even a simple walk can become a prayer. Take 10–15 minutes to move, repeating mantras of love and strength:  I am enough.  I am loved.  I am growing. Practices of Self-Love • Write a l...

Dec 22 : Lamentations 3:25 Hope (Daily Verse & Prayer)

Bible Verse Lamentations 3:25 "The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him." Reflection: Hope is not passive— it reaches. Like the upward hand in the sunset, it stretches toward the unseen, trusting that the divine hand will meet it. Today’s verse from Lamentations reminds us that the Lord is good to those who wait, who hope, who reach. The radiant cross breaking through the clouds is not just a symbol—it’s a promise. Even in the heaviness of sky and silence, light finds a way through. We are not alone in our reaching. God’s goodness is not distant; it is extended. The hand of Christ does not hover—it descends. And in that meeting place between heaven and earth, between longing and grace, we find the quiet miracle of being held. Let today be a day of reaching—not with striving, but with trust. Let the quill pause between words, letting the Spirit speak in silence. And let our hope rest not in outcomes, but in the goodness of the One who meets us there. December 22 Prayer L...

What to Wear to Be Prepared: God's Armor - Ephesians 6:10-18

The Armor of God:   Before the battle begins, the armor waits.    Ephesians 6:10-18 NLT 10...be strong with the Lord's mighty power. 11 Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil. 12 For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms. 13 Use every piece of God's armor to resist the enemy in the time of evil, so that after the battle you will still be standing firm.  14 Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness . 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared.  16 In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan.  17 Put on salvation as your helm...
