Dec 1: Psalm 118:24 - Rejoice (Daily Verse & Prayer)

Bible Verse  Psalm 118:24  " This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." KJV Devotional of the Day — Home Page Reflection Psalm 118:24 reminds me that every day is a gift — even the quiet ones. Today, I woke up to a soft chill in the air and a sense of peace. I’m learning to rejoice not just in answered prayers, but in the waiting. Whether I’m folding laundry or watching the sky I want my soul to echo this verse: “Rejoice in the Lord.” May this day bring you one small moment of gladness — a smile, a memory, a whisper of grace. Prayer Lord, thank You for this new day.  Fill my heart with joy, steady my steps, and help me reflect Your love in every task.  In Jesus' name, Amen May the Lord bless your day with gladness.  Rejoice in the Lord ~ Quil Share God with someone today:  The Quill and Me—Devotional Blog... Reflections - A Mother's Story of Faith and Her Daughter's Journey

Devotional of the Day — Home Page A mother's journey of faith, patience, and joy with her daughter. A Prayer for a Healthy Baby When I was expecting, my only prayer was for a healthy baby. I didn’t care if it was a boy or a girl — I simply longed for health. But when my daughter was born, she struggled to breathe. They placed her in an incubator, and I didn’t get to see her for almost three days. Before I could hold her, my husband came in with words that pierced me: “We have a Mongoloid child.” Later, a nurse tried to lighten the moment by saying, “When they told me that, I said I’ve never even been to Mongolia." When they finally rolled me down to the nursery, I held her for the first time. She was precious, with a head full of hair. And in that moment, I fell completely in love. Early Challenges, Early Miracles My precious daughter was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Her breathing troubles were temporary, and though she was born with a heart murmur, by age seven it had healed...

Forgiveness and Self-Love

Devotional of the Day — Home Page Forgiveness "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." — 1 Peter 4:8 Forgiveness is not only about releasing others—it is about releasing ourselves. For years, I carried regret over choices I made, wishing I had known then what I know now. But God sees the heart, and His mercy reminds me that self-love is not selfish. It is honoring the life He gave me, setting boundaries, and refusing to be treated less than His beloved child. When we forgive ourselves, we step into freedom. We stop carrying the weight of yesterday and begin walking in the grace of today. Forgiveness Continues:  Learning to Release Myself I’ve learned that the hardest person to forgive is myself. For years, I put other people’s wants and needs before my own. I didn’t know about self-love, boundaries, or the importance of respecting myself. I trusted too easily, gave too freely, and believed love could conquer all. Those choices shaped ...

My Salvation Story

A Baptism of Grace:  My Story of Salvation, Family, and Forgiveness This is a new blog, but the story behind it began long ago. I was saved at the age of nine, during a summer of Bible School that changed my life. I still remember the Spirit’s gentle pull on my heart that Sunday morning—the urgency of the call to walk forward and tell the pastor I had accepted Christ as my Savior. What I didn’t know was that my Daddy was right behind me, moved by the same Spirit, ready to surrender his life to Jesus. He was nearly 39 years old. That morning, we both walked to the front of the church—me with childlike faith, him with the weight of years—and declared our salvation. Our baptisms were scheduled for a later date, maybe a week or more—I don’t remember exactly. But I do remember the day itself. Daddy was 6'2", and when the pastor dipped him under the water, his feet nearly lifted off the ground. It was holy, awkward, and unforgettable. Daddy passed away at 66. I’m now 67. And I know ...

Meaning of Forgiveness: Key Bible Verses, Jesus' Command to Forgive, How to Forgive, and a Prayer

Devotional of the Day — Home Page Summary:  Meaning of Forgiveness Forgiveness is at the center of the gospel — Jesus commands it, models it, and makes it possible through His sacrifice. We are forgiven of every sin, even those not yet committed, and invited to receive His grace with childlike humility. Because God has forgiven us so completely, we are called to release grudges, let go of past hurts, and forgive others from the heart. Forgiveness does not require confronting anyone; it is a private act between you and God, a cleansing that frees your spirit. When forgiveness feels impossible, we can lay our pain at His feet and ask Him to remove the bitterness we cannot overcome alone. Sometimes the hardest forgiveness is toward ourselves, but Jesus meets us there too. God invites us to surrender every burden and receive His healing grace.
