Quiet Grace Notes

This entry is part of my Self-Love Devotional Series, a gentle collection of reflections and practices I'm trying as I heal. Quiet Grace Notes is where I share small, honest moments of surrender, prayer, and the little practices that help me breathe again.

Morning Invitations

I stumbled on a practice that promised to change a life: positive thinking, daily affirmations, and a short prayer to begin the day. The name that kept coming up was Louise Hay, author of You Can Heal Your Life — a woman who taught that our words and thoughts shape our experience. I watched a short clip of her speaking and learned she was inspired by others to explore how language and belief can transform a life.

All Is Well With My Soul

A Morning Prayer I’m Trying

When I wake, I close my eyes and whisper a prayer. I add my own lines because my faith is the lens through which I receive this practice:

Lord I give You praise.
“All is well.
Everything is working out for my highest good.
Every experience I go through only brings good to me.
I am safe.
I am loved.
I am protected.”
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This feels like a gentle surrender and a daily reorientation toward hope.

Trying Manifesting with Faith

Some call this manifesting. I’ve tried it before but lacked consistency. Now I’m posting notes to myself and committing to the practice as part of my healing journey. This is another step toward healing my life, my heart, and my soul.

Taking A Leap Of Faith

Following What's Placed Before Me

I believe the Lord places opportunities in my path; I must reach for them. That means stepping out, trusting God with blind faith, and letting Him lead me toward what is for my good.

Forgiving Myself

Laying Burdens Down

In a previous post I wrote about forgiveness, about forgiving myself and laying burdens at Jesus’ feet. Matthew 11:28 invites the weary to come and find rest. I did that. I confronted the guilt, shame, heartache and pain I had carried for years, laid it at His feet, and left it there. It’s only been a week, but I feel lighter, happier, and more grateful. My attitude toward myself is changing. I am seeing healing.

I praise the Lord and thank him for His love, grace and mercy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Additional Context on Affirmations and Louise Hay

Louise Hay popularized affirmations as tools for self-healing and self-love; her work encourages repeating positive statements to shift thought patterns and emotional responses. Many modern resources and videos summarize her approach and offer daily affirmation scripts for practice.

The Lord's Prayer

Intercessory Prayer:

Lord, I give you the praise and glory in all things. Father there are so many that are suffering in the world today...I do not know the burdens they carry - but you do.

I ask that you touch the bodies, souls, hearts, and minds of all people in the world today that are suffering and crying out in their need; answer their prayers, heal their bodies, refresh their minds, restore joy to their hearts and souls.

I pray that they will come to you and lay their burdens down at your feet...your love is abundant, your grace is merciful, your door is always open.

Your heart is full of joy and you welcome all that come to you.

"Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever."

(The Lord's Prayer: Matthew 6:9-13)

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

In humble gratitude for this journey of grace and healing,
Quil

December 2nd Bible Verse and Prayer

The Quill and Me Daily Prayer and Bible Verse for Today - December 2 Daily Bible Verse for Today - December 2 Scripture: Give all your worries and cares to God, because he cares about what happens to you . 1 Peter 5:7 from the NLT (New Living Translation) Scripture: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you . 1 Peter 5:7 KJV Reflection: Worry has a way of creeping into our hearts, especially when life feels uncertain. Yet this verse reminds us that we are not meant to carry the weight alone. God’s care is not distant or abstract — it is personal, tender, and constant. Every detail of our lives matters to Him. When we release our burdens into His hands, we exchange anxiety for peace. It doesn’t mean the challenges disappear, but it does mean we walk through them with courage, knowing the Lord is holding us steady. Today, let us practice surrender by naming our worries and laying them before Him, trusting His love to carry what we cannot. Prayer for Today: December 2 Father,...

Forgiveness Meaning

The Quill and Me Forgiveness Meaning: What the Bible Teaches About Letting Go People everywhere are searching—searching for the meaning of Bible verses, searching for the biblical meaning of forgiveness, searching for the very heart of forgiveness itself. And I am searching for those people. Bible Verses About Forgiveness Matthew 18:21–22 tells us: Then Peter came to Him and asked, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I do not say to you up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.” Forgiveness. It is all about forgiveness. The Lord commands it. He suffered greatly, died a horrible death—for us, for our sins. Every sin of the world, before He was alive, after He died, and after He ascended to reign as Lord of Lords and King of Kings. He sent His Holy Spirit to dwell within us, so that we might have the Comforter with us at all times. That is what it was all about: the forgiveness of our sins. Without His blood cl...

December 1st Daily Prayer and Bible Verse

The Quill and Me Short Daily Prayer and Bible Verse Daily Bible Verse for Today - December 1 Scripture: This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 KJV Scripture: This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.   Psalm 118:24 NLT Prayer for Today - December 1 Lord, thank You for this new day. Fill my heart with joy, steady my steps, and help me reflect Your love in every task. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen Reflection: Psalm 118:24 reminds me that every day is a gift — even the quiet ones. Today, I woke up to a soft chill in the air and a sense of peace. I’m learning to rejoice not just in answered prayers, but in the waiting. Whether I’m folding laundry or watching the sky I want my soul to echo this verse: “Rejoice in the Lord.” May this day bring you one small moment of gladness — a smile, a memory, a whisper of grace. Brought to you by Quil.  May the Lord bless your day with gladness.  Rejoice in th...
