Self-Love Devotional Series
Quiet Grace Notes
A Self-Love Practice I'm Trying
This entry is part of my Self-Love Devotional Series, a gentle collection of reflections and practices I'm trying as I heal. Quiet Grace Notes is where I share small, honest moments of surrender, prayer, and the little practices that help me breathe again.
Morning Invitations
I recently stumbled upon a practice that many say can change a life: positive thinking, daily affirmations, and a short morning prayer. The name that kept appearing was Louise Hay, author of You Can Heal Your Life. She taught that our words and thoughts shape our experience.
I watched a short clip of her speaking and learned she was inspired by others to explore how language and belief can transform a life. I’m not adopting everything she taught — but I am gently adapting what aligns with my faith.
All Is Well With My Soul
A Morning Prayer I’m Trying
When I wake, I close my eyes and whisper a prayer. I add my own lines because my faith is the lens through which I receive this practice:
Lord I give You praise.
“All is well.
Everything is working out for my highest good.
Every experience I go through only brings good to me.
I am safe.
I am loved.
I am protected.”
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
This feels like a gentle surrender - a daily reorientation toward hope.
Trying Manifesting with Faith
Some call this manifesting. I’ve tried it before but lacked consistency. Now I’m posting notes to myself and committing to the practice as part of my healing journey.
This is another step toward healing my life, my heart, and my soul.
Taking A Leap Of Faith
Following What's Placed Before Me
I believe the Lord places opportunities in my path; I must reach for them. That means stepping out, trusting God with blind faith, and letting Him lead me toward what is for my good.
Forgiving Myself
Laying Burdens Down
In a previous post I wrote about forgiving myself - about laying burdens at Jesus’ feet. Matthew 11:28 invites the weary to come and find rest. I did that. I confronted the guilt, shame, heartache and pain I had carried for years. I laid it at His feet, and left it there.
It’s only been a week, but I feel lighter. Happier. More grateful.
My attitude toward myself is changing.
I am seeing healing.
I praise the Lord and thank him for His love, grace and mercy.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A Little Context on Affirmations
Louise Hay popularized affirmations as tools for self-healing and self-love. Her work encourages repeating positive statements to shift thought patterns and emotional responses. Many modern resources and videos summarize her approach and offer daily affirmation scripts.
I'm not following her teachings fully - but I am learning how to speak to myself with kindness, through the lens of Christ.
The Lord's Prayer
Intercessory Prayer:
The Lord's Prayer
Intercessory Prayer:
Lord, I give You the praise and glory in all things.
There are so many suffering in the world today.
I do not know the burdens they carry — but You do.
Touch their bodies, souls, hearts, and minds.
Answer their prayers.
Heal their wounds.
Refresh their minds.
Restore joy to their hearts and souls.
Draw them to Yourself.
Let them lay their burdens at Your feet.
Your love is abundant.
Your grace is merciful.
Your door is always open.
"Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever."
(Matthew 6:9-13)
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever."
(Matthew 6:9-13)
In Jesus' name, Amen.
In humble gratitude for this journey of grace and healing,
~Quil
