February 11: Isaiah 26:3 - Is Your Mind Starved for God? (Today's Reflection from My Utmost For His Highest)

A solitary, leafless tree standing in a quiet, misty field.

Bible Verse

Isaiah 26:3 KJV

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee."

("You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, whose thoughts are fixed on You!") (NLT)

Reflection

There is a kind of exhaustion that doesn’t come from work or worry — it comes from a starved mind. Not starved of information, but starved of God. Oswald Chambers reminds us that neglecting the mind is one of the chief sources of weakness in a servant’s life.

We often wait for God to come find us, speak to us, stir us, or rescue us. But Scripture calls us to something far more intentional:
Turn your thoughts toward Him.
Fix your mind on Him.
Look to Him and be saved.

A stayed mind is not a passive mind. It is a mind that chooses — again and again — to turn away from the noise, the idols, the impulses, the scattered thoughts, and to look toward the One who anchors us.

God gave you a mind as a gift, not a burden. A mind that can remember His faithfulness. A mind that can bring every thought into obedience to Christ. A mind that can trace His fingerprints in the rising sun, the changing seasons, the quiet rhythms of nature.

When your thoughts begin to align with Him, something shifts.
Your mind is no longer at the mercy of impulses.
Your hope grows bright.
Your affection for God deepens.
Your peace becomes steady.

And when trials come — as they always do — your faith and the Spirit of God work together, not in competition, but in harmony.

If your mind feels scattered today…
If your thoughts feel thin or tired…
If you feel spiritually underfed…

Wake up your memory.
Remember whose you are.
Remember whom you serve.
Remember the One who keeps you in perfect peace when your mind rests on Him.

Selah.

Prayer

Lord, steady my thoughts.
Turn my mind toward You.
Feed what has been starved,
and awaken what has grown dull.
Teach me to remember You in all things.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Breath Prayer

Inhale: My mind is Yours.
Exhale: Keep me in Your peace.

Benediction

May your mind rest in the One who keeps you.
May your thoughts return to Him quickly and often.
And may His perfect peace guard your heart today.

December 2: 1 Peter 5:7 Do Not Worry (Bible Verse and Prayer)

Bible Verse 1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you ." KJV Give all your worries and cares to God, because he cares about what happens to you .  (NLT -New Living Translation) Reflection Worry has a way of creeping into our hearts, especially when life feels uncertain. Yet this verse reminds us that we are not meant to carry the weight alone. God’s care is not distant or abstract — it is personal, tender, and constant. Every detail of our lives matters to Him. When we release our burdens into His hands, we exchange anxiety for peace. It doesn’t mean the challenges disappear, but it does mean we walk through them with courage, knowing the Lord is holding us steady. Today, let us practice surrender by naming our worries and laying them before Him, trusting His love to carry what we cannot. Prayer Father, I lay my worries at Your feet.  Please give me calm for my mind and courage for my work, and remind me -   You hold every detail.  In J...

March 12: Mark 10:28 - The Choice of Christ Alone (Today's Reflection from My Utmost For His Highest)

Bible Verse Mark 10:28 "Peter began to say to Him, 'See, we have left all and followed You' " Reflection Total surrender is never a transaction—it is a preference. Not a preference for relief, usefulness, holiness, or spiritual gain, but a quiet, unwavering choosing of Jesus Christ Himself. Peter’s words, “We have left all and followed You,” reveal how easily we imagine surrender as something we give for something in return. But Jesus redirects the entire center of gravity: “for My sake and the gospel’s.” Chambers presses into the uncomfortable truth—we often want God’s gifts more than God. We want cleansing, usefulness, spiritual brightness, or a sense of being “on display” as proof of His work in us. But genuine surrender is not motivated by any of these. It is the laying down of every subtle self-claim so that Christ becomes the only reason, the only aim, the only desire. True surrender goes beyond natural devotion. It steps past the excuses we make in the name of ...
