It is the intimacy of a surrendered heart — a heart that stands in awe of Him, trusts Him, and walks with Him. The “fear of the Lord” in Scripture does not mean being afraid of Him. It means living in awe of Him — honoring Him, reverencing Him, and drawing near with a heart that wants nothing more than to please Him. This kind of awe opens the door to something deeper: God sharing His heart with us. At the beginning of our Christian life, our prayers are full of requests. Present Philip stood in front of Jesus and still asked to see the Father. Jesus told him that seeing Him was seeing the Father. God was right there, and Philip didn’t recognize Him. We are the same way. God is with us, guiding us, steadying us, revealing Himself in quiet ways — yet we often look for something dramatic. Faith is trusting the God we cannot see, the God who is already here.   Philip wasn't asking out of rebellion.  Philip was asking out of longing — the same longing we feel. NLT) Reflection God’s promise to Moses is the same promise He whispers to us in every weary place: “My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.” Rest is not something we achieve. It is something God gives. It comes not from having everything settled, but from knowing we are not walking alone. His presence is the rest. His nearness is the peace. Bible Verse "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. Exodus 14:14 There are moments when the weight of our battles feels too heavy to carry. We strive, we plan, we push forward—and yet the Lord whispers, “Be still.” Stillness is not weakness. It is trust. It is the posture of surrender, where we release control and allow God’s strength to prevail. Just as He parted the sea for Israel, He makes a way for us when none seems possible. In stillness, we discover His presence. In surrender, we find His victory. Stillness is a sanctuary. Let it hold you. December 17 - Our Prayer for Today Lord, I surrender my battles to You. Bible Verse "The Lord is near to all who call on Him" Psalm 145:18 This verse reminds us that God’s presence is not distant or reserved for a select few. He draws close to every heart that calls upon Him sincerely. Whether whispered in weakness or spoken in strength, every prayer is heard. When we feel alone, this promise assures us that the Lord is near. His nearness is not measured by our circumstances but by His faithfulness. Calling on Him is an act of trust, and in that trust we discover His presence surrounding us. • In prayer: Speak honestly to God today, knowing He is near. • In need: Remember that His presence is not delayed; He is already with you. • In gratitude: Thank Him for being close, even when you cannot see or feel it.
