Remember the Lord Thy God God uses clouds to reveal Himself. Difficult days are not signs of His absence — they are invitations to draw nearer. He is always close, but clouds make us aware of Him in ways ordinary days do not. Because God is spirit, we do not see Him with our physical eyes. Nahum’s words settle the heart like a warm hand on the shoulder: “The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him.” This is not goodness in theory, nor strength in abstraction. It is goodness that meets us in the very places we fear we will break. It is strength that holds when our own strength has thinned to a thread. God does not simply notice those who trust Him—He knows them. He knows the tremble beneath the prayer, the weight behind the sigh, the quiet endurance that no one else sees. Trust is not measured by how steady we feel, but by the direction we lean when trouble comes.
