May 31: John 2:24-25 — Entrusted With His Spirit (Today's Reading: My Utmost for His Highest)

An open Bible resting on a soft textured surface, lit by natural light, with highlighted passages in Psalms visible on the pages, creating a peaceful and reflective atmosphere.

John 2:24–25
“Jesus did not commit Himself to them… for He knew what was in man.”

Christ died so that we might have life. His death made way for the Holy Spirit — the Comforter — to come and dwell within us, teaching us all things. Without Christ’s sacrifice, this would not have been possible.

Jesus came to set us free from sin and death. When we accept Him as our Savior, His Spirit comes to live within us. Our bodies become His temple. He is King of kings and Lord of lords — our sovereign God in every way.

He came to earth as a baby, entrusting Himself to the world, and the world rejected Him. He was crucified at the hands of those He came to save. Yet He overcame the world. He rose on the third day, ascended to Heaven, and now sits at the right hand of the Father with all authority.

When the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within you, He entrusts Himself to your care — like a life that must be nurtured. He desires to grow in you. But He cannot grow unless you feed Him with Scripture, prayer, and relationship. A relationship where He is truly your sovereign Lord.

You surrender your will to Him, and He takes complete care of you. Until you surrender totally, He does not have the authority — the permission — to complete His work in you. Your self, sin, and will run freely inside you, resisting Him. He cannot sit on the throne of your life until you give Him place by laying down your right to rule yourself.

He has entrusted Himself to you, and He loves you so much that He willingly laid down His life for you. He came to set you free. He came to give you life. Without Him, we are already condemned — but through Him, we are saved. We love Him because He first loved us. But once you experience true freedom — the freedom that comes from surrendering your will in a deliberate, intentional act — you will love Him because of how faithful He is.

Once you are committed to the Lord, you begin to experience the promises of Scripture: being held, carried, guarded, and kept. He watches over the doors of your heart, soul, and mind. He maintains your surrender. He deals with sin and will. He keeps His throne secure — all without effort on your part. Your part is simply to remain surrendered, willing, and obedient.

And none of this is hard, because the Holy Spirit does the work in you. He gives you the desire for Him. He frees you from self, sin, and will. He lifts your burdens and carries them — and He carries you. All you do is rest in Him, trust Him, and walk with Him. Even your strength and courage come from Him.

I cannot describe the feeling — it is sweet beyond words — to be held in the arms of the Lord, free from burdens, free from the self-life that tried to destroy me. To know without a doubt that the Lord God is here, present and active in my life.

Chambers’ theme today is simple: Put God First.
Trust Him.
Put His will first.
Put Jesus first in your life.
Wake up with Him on your mind.
Be willing and obedient.
Trust Him with your day.
Believe Him.
Your body is His temple — treat Him well.
Let Him grow in you.
Let His life be yours.
Let Him shine through you.
This is God’s purpose: that His Son would shine His light into the world through you.

Do not hesitate any longer. Surrender to Him deliberately. Lay your free will at His feet. Come before Him in reverence, with a humble and contrite heart, willing to submit to Him as Lord. He will immediately take His place on the throne of your life, and you will begin to experience the promises of God unfolding within you.

Rejoice — you have stepped into a new life, the life of Jesus. He will work wonders in you, and you will never be the same.

You will still have your will, but you will not want to change a thing. You will be glad to have Him as Lord of your life. When He sets you free, you are free indeed. You will love Him more and desire Him more with each passing day. And now, you will not have to think twice about putting God first — because He is first, seated on the throne of your life.

And you will be glad.

Selah.

Prayer
Lord, I put You first in my life.
I lay down my life and I receive Yours.
Be the Lord of my life.
Set me free from self, sin, and will.
Take Your rightful place on the throne of my heart.
Be my sovereign God, the Master of my will,
and the One who carries my burdens.

I love You, Lord, and I long for a closer relationship with You.
I come willing, surrendered, and obedient to Your will.
Be the Lover of my soul and the Lord of my life.

Forever Yours,
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Present (John 14:9)

Today's Reading: My Utmost for His Highest Devotional of the Day — Home Page John 14:9 "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip?" ...He that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Philip stood in front of Jesus and still asked to see the Father. Jesus told him that seeing Him was seeing the Father. God was right there, and Philip didn’t recognize Him. We are the same way. God is with us, guiding us, steadying us, revealing Himself in quiet ways — yet we often look for something dramatic. Faith is trusting the God we cannot see, the God who is already here.   Philip wasn't asking out of rebellion.  Philip was asking out of longing — the same longing we feel. But Jesus’ response reveals something deeper:  “Have I been with you so long, and you still don’t know Me?” We want to see God with our eyes, hear Him with our ears, and sense His nearness the way we sense another person in the room. That is hum...

Meaning of Forgiveness: Key Bible Verses, Jesus' Command to Forgive, How to Forgive, and a Prayer

Devotional of the Day — Home Page Summary:  Meaning of Forgiveness Forgiveness is at the center of the gospel — Jesus commands it, models it, and makes it possible through His sacrifice. We are forgiven of every sin, even those not yet committed, and invited to receive His grace with childlike humility. Because God has forgiven us so completely, we are called to release grudges, let go of past hurts, and forgive others from the heart. Forgiveness does not require confronting anyone; it is a private act between you and God, a cleansing that frees your spirit. When forgiveness feels impossible, we can lay our pain at His feet and ask Him to remove the bitterness we cannot overcome alone. Sometimes the hardest forgiveness is toward ourselves, but Jesus meets us there too. God invites us to surrender every burden and receive His healing grace. Dec 2: 1 Peter 5:7 Do Not Worry (Daily Verse & Prayer)

Devotional of the Day — Home Page 1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you ." — KJV Worry has a way of creeping into our hearts, especially when life feels uncertain. Yet this verse reminds us that we are not meant to carry the weight alone. God’s care is not distant or abstract — it is personal, tender, and constant. Every detail of our lives matters to Him. When we release our burdens into His hands, we exchange anxiety for peace. It doesn’t mean the challenges disappear, but it does mean we walk through them with courage, knowi ng the Lord is holding us steady. Today, let us practice surrender by naming our worries and laying them before Him, trusting His love to carry what we cannot. Prayer Father, I lay my worries at Your feet.  Please give me calm for my mind and courage for my work, and remind me -   You hold every detail.  In Jesus' precious, holy name I pray, Amen.  I pray your day be free from worry and your mind calm, ~ Quil ...
