John 12:36
"While you have the light, believe in the light ..."
There are moments when God gives us an unusual insight — a mountaintop moment when everything feels bright, strong, and simple. We often wish we could stay there, but those moments were never meant to be permanent. They are glimpses of truth we are called to carry back into ordinary days.
The real test is not how we feel on the mountain. The test is whether we will live by what God showed us once the feeling fades. Many believers struggle here. We wait for another emotional high, another surge of motivation, another “special moment,” instead of acting on what we already know.
Chambers warns us not to let those insights evaporate. When God shows you something, respond. Don’t put it on a shelf. Don’t wait for a better mood. Don’t talk about what you plan to do — do it. Much of our spiritual laziness hides behind our desire for another mountaintop experience. We crave the feeling instead of the obedience.
God calls us to live the “gray” days — the ordinary, unremarkable days — by the light He gave us on the mountain. If you were convicted, strengthened, or shown a next step, that truth still stands even when your emotions shift. Go after it again. Don’t quit because you felt blocked once. Make your decisions in the light God gave you, and then stand by them.
Breath Prayer:
“Lord, help me live what You’ve shown me.”
