Luke 10:20
"Do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you ..."Chambers reminds us that the greatest danger to the Christian worker is not worldliness or sin, but the desire for spiritual success. In our culture, success is measured by numbers — how many people attend, respond, or read. The higher the number, the more “effective” the work appears. But this is the world’s standard, not God’s.
Scripture teaches that salvation and sanctification belong to God alone (Ephesians 2:8–9; Philippians 1:6). Our work is not to save souls, but to walk with those He has saved, helping them grow in Christ and yield their lives to Him. That is what Chambers’ writings have been doing in me — teaching me devotion, surrender, and a life hidden in Christ (Colossians 3:3).
Before beginning this blog, I was awakened but not yielded. I was saved, but striving. I was in my own way. Through this journey, I have been laying down my stubborn will and giving Christ His rightful place. I am still early in this new yielded life, but I am growing as I read, reflect, and obey.
I do notice the number of people who read the blog each day — it quietly encourages me. But I do not measure success by those numbers. I write because the Lord asked me to, and because it keeps me accountable. Each day I return to read Chambers, reflect, and write. These reflections remind me of what God is doing in me, how far He has brought me, and how He keeps me grounded.
If anyone else is reading, I trust they are also growing — learning to align their hearts with God, learning to walk in truth, learning to yield. Under Chambers’ discipleship of me, I am learning to disciple others by sharing what God is forming in my life (2 Timothy 2:2).
Chambers warns that unless our life is hidden in Christ, we become dictators — pushing our desires onto others. But Jesus never dictates. He always says “if” (Luke 9:23). There is always an invitation, never force. I have chosen to say “I will,” and I leave the results to Him. They are not mine to manage.
And here is something remarkable: until Google fully indexes this blog, it cannot be found through a normal search — yet people still find it. This fact quietly confirms to me that this blog is a God‑given assignment. It is a way of staying accountable on this journey that I felt led by Him to create and place in His hands. I never doubted it, because this vulnerability — Christ in me is requiring — would never have been a personal choice. He is shaping me through it, and allowing others to read only because He brings them.
If no one but me ever read a single word of it, it would still matter, because this practice keeps me steady, accountable, and surrendered. God knows that I give up on things when they become difficult, overwhelming, or seem insurmountable — yet here I return each day because I promised I would, and He is giving me the strength to keep that promise.
Through this daily obedience, He is breaking old patterns, healing deep places, and teaching me to yield. The fruit I see in my own soul is proof of His work. The fact that anyone finds this blog at all — before it is even searchable — is His doing alone. I refine it because readers come, but the overflow is His. I am here by His grace to learn and grow.
The joy is in the relationship —
in His presence, His peace, His approval,
in the way He is changing me and growing me, one day at a time.
One day at a time.
