Today's Reading: My Utmost for His Highest
John 2:24-25
"Jesus did not commit himself to them . . . for He knew what was in man."
Disillusionment 101
Explanation of Verse: Jesus did not commit Himself to the people who believed only because of His miracles. He knew their faith was shallow and based on what they saw, not on surrender. He sees beneath the surface. He knows what is in us — our motives, illusions, and false identities.
This verse shows that Jesus is never fooled by appearances. He works with what is true, not what is pretended. Disillusionment happens when God removes what is false so He can reveal what is real.
•
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and you will not be in disillusionment.
The path that led me into disillusionment is not the point—the point is the Lord is going to use my disillusionment today to teach me how to step out of the old way of thinking into the new.
I will unlearn false teachings.
Let the Spirit reshape my identity.
Walk in truth.
Walk in surrender.
Be free from the judgment of this world.
Be healed from limitation, my past, my scars.
He will remove the illusions so He can reveal Himself.
He will remove false identities so He can reveal the true one.
He will remove religious limitations so He can reveal the freedom of the Spirit.
He will remove judgments so He can reveal His grace.
This is a journey of repair and renewal I may not be prepared for,
but I am going to experience
because I did not seek first
the kingdom
of God.
Putting your trust or hope in anything other than God is a total waste of time and effort.
In the very end you will be asking yourself if it was worth it.
And if you pursued anything other than Christ Himself,
the answer will be a big fat — NO.
The only important thing is seeking the kingdom of God first.
Everything else in life will fall into its rightful place.
The empty place inside of you that you seek to fill
can only be filled by the One
who created that space
—GOD.
All other things will leave you dissatisfied and empty.
Do not put your trust, hope, or faith in another human being—
unless you want to be disappointed.
But do not despair.
God's grace can do what man cannot accomplish.
Consider viewing everyone as God sees them—precious in His sight.
Think of what He has done for you.
Think of what you would be without God in your life.
Now consider the fact that what He has done for you, He can do for anyone.
No one is a lost cause.
No one is beyond God's saving grace.
We get our priorities in life straight.
Wake up with God on our mind.
Seek Him.
Hunger for Him.
Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness all day long.
Go to sleep with Him on our mind.
We are satisfied and trusting in the Lord for our life and provision,
and all things will be added unto us.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for Your presence in my life.
Thank You for Your love, mercy, and grace.
I praise You, I love You, I need You.
I come to You in disillusionment.
Strengthen, comfort, and heal me.
Please break the chains that bind my life to all falsehoods.
Please gather all the false beliefs of my life...
I let them go as I give them to You.
I come to You for renewal and repair.
Anchor my heart and mind in Your truth,
that I may walk in Your precepts
and not those of the world.
Your will be done in my life.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Breath Prayer
Your will
not mine.
Selah,
