and I in you

Today's Reading: My Utmost for His Highest
1 Corinthians 1:30
"But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us . . . sanctification . . ."
The Moment After You Let Go
The Life Side of Sanctification
The truth of sanctification is... at the very moment you loosen the grip of control you have over your life is the very moment Jesus speaks of in Matthew 16: 25-26... we lose our life for Jesus' sake and find it.
The sanctification of your soul has begun. You have the Holy Spirit already in you. Now He will work the very life of our perfect and holy Saviour, Jesus Christ, into your life.
Sanctification is Christ in you.
The qualities of our Lord, Jesus Christ, are instantly ours. He will live His life through us. It is a gift of God's grace. Sanctification means nothing less than Jesus living through us. His qualities, His very life force, will be made manifest in your life. Your life will not imitate Jesus' life. Your life will emanate with His life in you. Your life will be His life lived through your life. Your life hidden in His life.
His patience, His holiness, His faith, His purity, His godliness... all the perfect qualities of Jesus are at your disposal. He is in you. He now exhibits His life in you. The secret of living a holy life is in letting the perfect qualities of Jesus shine through your human life.
The Holy Spirit immediately establishes control over that willful will of ours and the slavery to sin we have suffered under... they are now under His own mighty hand. From now on God Himself is going to carry your life.
The river of grace that already flows freely and washes over you daily can now be fully received by your open hand. Not only do you have a river of grace to partake of, you have the very life of Christ alive inside of you.
Let this realization sink in for a moment.
The very life and power of the holy living God is within you. He wants to live through your life. His Spirit no longer wrestling with your spirit, because your spirit is now in agreement with His Spirit. How can anything be more perfect?! The very life of Christ shining through you.
This is an extraordinary truth.
You will be kept by the very power of God. Your new life in Christ will consequently, begin to resemble the life of Christ... orderly, sound, and holy. That is the great and perfect mystery of the "life" side of the sanctified soul.
Chambers asks: "Am I willing for God to make sanctification as real in me as it is in His Word?"
You will not draw from Jesus the power to be holy... we are not holy. But the One within you is holy and you will draw from Jesus the very holiness that He will now exhibit in you. The real and holy powerful almighty living God of heaven is going to be shining His light into the world through you.
This is truth. This is light. This is Jesus Christ... alive and well... hidden in plain sight.
My Personal Reflection on this Overwhelming Truth:
Before I can even take another breath, I have to pause and let this truth settle over me — that the almighty, holy, living God of heaven is not only with me, but within me, choosing to shine His light into the world through my surrendered life. It is a mystery too great to comprehend, yet it is real, and I will learn how to walk in the wonder of it.
Prayer
Lord, teach us to walk in the wonderful truth
of our life hidden in Your life hidden in us.
For every reader who pauses here,
I ask that You open their hearts to Your Word.
Let them sense Your nearness,
feel Your grace,
and recognize Your voice calling them deeper.
Pour Your mercy over us,
Pour Your mercy over us,
Your strength into us,
Your love around us,
and Your holiness within us.
Thank You for Your constant guidance
Thank You for Your constant guidance
and Your endless forgiveness.
We praise You, Lord.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
