Today's Reading: My Utmost for His Highest
Hebrews 10:24-25
"Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together . . ."
When Christ Stirs the Heart
Chambers' message today speaks to our spiritual laziness. Wanting peace and quiet, comfort and relief... instead of obedience, growth, Christ, and realization. We had rather avoid God rather than meet Him. Many want to retire to their homes untouched by people, responsibility or conflict.
But Jesus calls us out. Go and tell. Spread the gospel to the ends of the earth.
Real spirituality engages, loves, and serves others. It stirs up the heart. It awakens others. It participates in the world instead of hiding from it.
My devotionals are being read by people from all over the world—so far in over 30 countries and twice as many cities. God is breathing on this ministry and it is spreading further than I could ever travel. Going into places that I will never personally see. Touching hearts that I will never meet.
I am blessed to have this opportunity so late in my life. I did not ever in a million years believe I would be living this life—a life that serves the Lord by letting Him live through me. He is helping me, teaching me, guiding my heart and mind, my hands. Everything here points to one place: Jesus.
I want to tell the world about Jesus and what He has done in my life, in hopes this will stir the hearts of many, give people hope, lead them to the only One that can answer all their life questions.
Jesus is the way, the truth, the light—the answer to all of life's problems, no matter what they might be. He can turn your life around if you will just let Him. I am living proof of this truth.
Prayer
Father, in all the world we will never find someone as beautiful as You.No one as faithful and true.
You are the One we yearn to be connected to.
And You long to have us all gathered under Your wings.
You sent the Holy Spirit to pour grace on us all.
You love us so much You sent Your only Son to be sacrificed so that we might have eternal life—so that we might be reconciled to You. And for that reason, in obedience to You, Jesus lay His life down for us.
Lord, thank You for Your abundant love, mercy, and grace.
We praise You, we thank You, we love You.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
