That I May Know Him
A saint is anyone saved by the blood of Christ. And the aim of a saint — the heartbeat of a spiritually vigorous life — is simple:
To know Jesus.
Not to “find ourselves.” Not to chase personal achievements. Not to fix our own broken places. But to recognize that Jesus is already in our circumstances, already in our life, already present — and to get to know Him there.
The world says, “Go find yourself.” People travel, reinvent themselves, try new identities, chase new experiences — all in the hope of discovering who they are.
But I am here to tell you something plainly:
We cannot permanently fix ourselves. We may win a battle, but another one rises. We may patch a wound, but another opens. Self‑realization never lasts.
But Christ‑realization does.
Get to know Jesus. He is able — and willing — to heal what you cannot heal. He does not patch; He transforms. He does not temporarily fix; He permanently restores.
And knowing Him is so much more than seeking help. It is discovering the most wonderful Person ever to walk this earth — God in human form. Imagine being one of the disciples, seeing Him daily, hearing His voice, watching His kindness. We can still know Him like that. He is just as present now as He was then.
He has been with me since I was nine years old, but I did not truly know Him until about seven months ago. Even though I didn’t know Him, He stayed. He protected me. He saved my life more than once. And finally, He brought me to the end of myself — to a place where I had no strength left and no answers left.
I laid a fifty‑year burden at His feet. And He lifted it.
That was the moment I realized He was real in my life — not just in my beliefs. He reminded me of a story in Scripture where a letter was laid before the Lord, and He answered. That memory was His nudge. His invitation. His way of saying, “Bring it to Me.”
That day was a turning point. A crack opened in the armor around my heart, just wide enough for His presence to be seen. I began noticing His nudges, His whispers, His gentle suggestions. I reopened my old blog and wrote about forgiveness — because He led me there.
Since then, I have surrendered my life to Him. I released every fear‑laced worry I carried. And I am experiencing the freedom Scripture talks about — the freedom I never believed was possible.
Do not feel discouraged if you have not experienced this yet. The Lord opens spiritual eyes in His timing. He knows when your heart is ready.
Do you have a relationship with Him? Is the Holy Spirit living inside you right now? How deep is your love?
Here is something I learned: When you open your heart, the Holy Spirit pours love for Jesus directly into you. He pours grace continuously — day and night. He carries you. He holds you. He steadies you.
But the road I traveled to get here was long and painful. I would not wish it on anyone. That is why I am writing these devotionals — to help someone take a straighter path than I did. One with fewer potholes, fewer detours, fewer wolves in sheep’s clothing.
I spent years searching for love in all the wrong places — the kind of love only Jesus could give. The only love that could satisfy my soul. The only love that could touch my heart the way it needed to be touched.
I did not find Him. He found me. On my worst day, He came near. He saved me from myself.
I will be forever grateful.
Now I have a purpose. My calling is to walk through My Utmost for His Highest and share my spiritual growth with anyone who reads these devotionals. They are full of Him. Because I am getting to know Him — truly know Him. The Holy Spirit is shaping the very nature of Jesus Christ in my life.
This is the truest relationship I have ever known. No lies. No broken promises. No abandonment. No cruelty. No manipulation. No rejection.
Only kindness. Only presence. Only love.
I ignored Him for 68 years, and He welcomed me with open arms. He showed me He has been with me since before I was saved. He proved He is closer to me than my next breath.
And now I am determined He will stay.
Join me in this discovery of Jesus. Tell Him, “I want what she has.” You may receive even more — because you are starting sooner than I did.
Do not wait. Do not wander. Do not search for yourself in places that cannot hold you.
Know Him. That is the aim of the spiritually vigorous saint. Not self‑realization, but Christ‑realization. Not fixing ourselves, but seeing Jesus in every circumstance.
A saint getting to know their Savior.
Prayer
Lord, Open my eyes to see You in every circumstance of my life.Teach me to recognize Your presence, Your nudges, Your love.
Let my heart grow in the knowledge of who You are — not in self‑realization, but in Christ‑realization. Shape Your nature within me.
Make my life a testimony of Your kindness, Your grace, and Your nearness.
I want to know You, Lord… truly know You.
Hold me close as I walk this journey with You.
