His Peace For Your Troubles

Chambers says it best, there are times in our lives when our peace is based simply on our own ignorance. We are so unaware of reality that nothing troubles us yet—not because we have peace, but because life has not thrown anything at us yet. But most people are a little troubled inside and have no inner peace. Because when faced with the overwhelming realities of life, true inner peace is impossible, unless it is received from the only one that can give it—Jesus.  As our anchor verse tells us: "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you" When He speaks peace, it is created, because His words are Spirit and life.

God sovereignly allows turbulence to enter our lives. Are you striving to find that peace in your world of trouble? Have you used up all of your faith trying to settle your own heart? Look to the Lord for your comfort. You can only find this unusual spiritual peace from one source and that is Him. When you have His peace in your life that is confirmation that you have looked into His face, that you have your focus directly on Him. 

If we try to worry our way out of trouble it just causes more anguish and turmoil. We must let Him settle us. When we let Him be the source of our strength, the source of our faith and hope, His peace settles on us and smooths out the tarmac of our heart. There will be no waves thrashing, no ripples... just a smooth surface. A peace so calming and quiet, you know it is not from yourself. It is His peace that is unexplainable. A peace that is beyond our understanding. 

If you have worries or troubles in your life, lay them before Him, ask Him for help. Look to Jesus for the peace that surpasses all earthly understanding and listen to His sweet voice tell you what we read in John 14:27: "Let not your heart be troubled..." Fully understand and receive His quiet contentment.

Lord, I lay my troubles at Your feet,

give me Your peace.
