Today's Reading: My Utmost for His Highest

1 Peter 4:19

"Let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good . . ."

Suffering for the Glory of God

No one likes suffering, and we hate to see others suffer. 

But with God, suffering is something that a saint endures because it is God's will, we do not choose the suffering, we choose God, therefore we choose His will. 

If we see another saint suffering for the will of God's purpose, we are not to interfere. Suffering is for a season and in that season we are learning something for God's purpose. Any saint that has suffered because of God's will does not sympathize with another saint's suffering for they know that sympathy aimed at the sufferer will cause that person to have self-pity in their hearts. And Jesus said self-pity is of the devil. (Matthew 16:21-23) We must endure the suffering of God's will in every way and know that it will make us stronger and bring glory to God. 

God never argues back so it is easy to tarnish God's character, we must be careful not to do so. When we suffer it is the will of God and for His purpose; suffering strengthens the saint. Any saint that has suffered will defend the honor of the Lord and will never sympathize with another saint who is suffering. 

No one else will understand this suffering except the one who is suffering. The world sees the saint suffering and considers it a waste. The world judges God's purposes and sees uselessness. But God places His saints where they will bring the most glory to Him. And we nor the world are capable of judging where exactly that might be. 

To God be the glory, great things He has taught us, great things He has done.
